Zayed Authority for People of Determination has reaffirmed that families are the primary partners in the success of the rehabilitation and empowerment system, emphasizing that investing in the abilities of People of Determination begins with building a genuine and sustainable partnership with parents and guardians, who constitute the cornerstone in supporting their children to achieve their full potential and actively integrate into society.

This came during the “Because They Deserve the Best” forum for families of People of Determination, organized by the Authority’s Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department, with wide participation from parents and families of beneficiaries. The forum reflects the Authority’s commitment to strengthening direct communication with families and engaging them in the development of educational and rehabilitation programmers, thereby enhancing service quality and achieving the best outcomes for its beneficiaries.

The forum provided a platform for direct dialogue between parents, teachers, trainers, and specialized professionals to promote the exchange of experiences, discuss educational and rehabilitation plans for beneficiaries, and review best practices that support their development. This contributes to enhancing their independence and quality of life while reinforcing the partnership approach adopted by the Authority with families throughout the various stages of rehabilitation and empowerment.

The results of the survey conducted by the Authority at the conclusion of the forum showed a high level of satisfaction among parents across all aspects of the event. Overall satisfaction reached 98%, while all participants confirmed that the forum strengthened their role as essential partners in their children’s educational and rehabilitation journey. The results also showed that 99% of parents stated that direct meetings with teachers and trainers enhanced their understanding of their children’s progress and needs, while 97% praised the accompanying activities and events for providing a positive experience that brought joy to both students and their families. These results reflect the forum’s success in achieving its objectives and strengthening the effective partnership between the Authority and families.

The forum also featured presentations highlighting the programmes and services of the Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department, in addition to one-on-one meetings between families and teachers and trainers to review beneficiaries’ individual plans and levels of progress. Social and recreational activities were also organized to strengthen communication between the Authority and families and foster a positive environment that supports the success of the rehabilitation journey.

Mohammed Salem Al Shabibi, Director of the Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation Department at the Authority, affirmed that the successes achieved through the Authority’s educational and rehabilitation programmes are the result of a strong partnership with families and parents, who represent the foundation of their children’s empowerment journey. He noted that involving families throughout all stages of rehabilitation is one of the most important factors in ensuring the success and sustainability of these programmes.

He said:
"The family is the first environment in which confidence is built, talents are discovered, and success stories are created. From this perspective, we at Zayed Authority for People of Determination are committed to establishing a sustainable partnership with parents based on dialogue, communication, and the exchange of experiences. This enhances the effectiveness of our educational and rehabilitation programmes and enables our sons and daughters of determination to achieve their full potential and actively participate in society."

Al Shabibi added:
"The family is not merely a recipient of services; it is an essential partner in planning, follow-up, and evaluation. Therefore, we are keen to listen to their views and continuously benefit from their suggestions in a way that contributes to the development of our services and the achievement of the best outcomes for our beneficiaries. Every achievement attained by a Person of Determination is the result of the integration of roles between the family and the Authority, reinforcing the sustainability of success and embodying our vision of building an integrated empowerment system based on partnership and shared responsibility."

The “Because They Deserve the Best” forum reflects Zayed Authority for People of Determination’s commitment to strengthening the role of families as strategic partners in the journey of rehabilitation and empowerment and to reinforcing direct channels of communication with them. This aligns with the Authority’s vision of providing integrated services in accordance with international best practices and supports the UAE’s efforts to empower People of Determination, enhance their quality of life, and promote their active participation in the nation’s sustainable development journey.
