Zayed Authority for People of Determination Organizes a Recreational Trip for Innovation Center Members to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Zayed Authority for People of Determination organized a recreational trip for 109 People of Determination who are members of its Innovation Center, accompanied by several supervisors, to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island. This initiative comes as part of the Authority’s portfolio of recreational and educational programs and activities, aimed at enhancing cognitive and social skills and supporting the social inclusion of People of Determination.

The trip reflects the Authority’s commitment to equipping its members with life skills beyond the center environment by providing opportunities to engage in real-life experiences that broaden their horizons, enhance social interaction, and enrich their knowledge and practical experience.

Zayed Authority for People of Determination emphasized that organizing recreational programs and trips contributes to the well-being of People of Determination, boosts their self-confidence, and provides positive energy that directly supports the development of their abilities. Such initiatives also play a supportive role in the success of care and rehabilitation programs, in addition to their effective contribution to activating social inclusion and creating opportunities for communication and interaction with the wider community.

The Authority noted that these trips are an integral part of their accredited rehabilitation programs, which aim to develop cognitive, social, and behavioral skills, and enable members to apply acquired skills in natural environments. This, in turn, enhances their ability to interact with others and fosters self-reliance.

This approach aligns with the Authority’s adoption of the concept of “recreational therapy” as one of the supportive methods for developing the capabilities of People of Determination, where recreation is used as an effective therapeutic tool to productively utilize free time and provide life experiences that improve psychological, social, and behavioral aspects.

The recreational programs of Zayed Authority for People of Determination aim to enhance interaction and integration among members in various environments outside the traditional framework of centers or classrooms, thereby enriching their experiences and strengthening their independence.

It is worth noting that “recreational therapy” encompasses a range of activities and programs designed by specialists and relies on diverse methods such as music, sports, games, arts, drama, drawing, and coloring. These activities aim to support the physical, psychological, emotional, social, and cognitive aspects of People of Determination, as well as individuals with chronic illnesses.
