His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Authority for People of Determination and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion – Damj
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Authority for People of Determination, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Trustees, in the presence of His Excellency Shams Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi and Vice Chairman of the Board, along with Their Excellencies and distinguished members of the Board.
His Highness opened the meeting with a welcoming speech to the Board members, expressing his pride in the pioneering national journey achieved by Zayed Authority for People of Determination, launched under the generous patronage of the wise leadership, and reflecting the UAE’s steadfast approach in supporting and empowering People of Determination.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that caring for People of Determination was among the priorities of the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. This approach continued during the era of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, and today receives ongoing support and patronage from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. This has strengthened Abu Dhabi’s position as a global model in caring for and empowering People of Determination.
His Excellency Shams Ali Al Dhaheri expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasizing the importance of the advisory role of the Board in supporting the directions of Zayed Authority for People of Determination and completing the development of an integrated and sustainable system that meets the needs of this group in line with best practices.
The meeting reviewed its agenda, which included a comprehensive briefing on the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination, the scope of work and services of Zayed Authority for People of Determination, as well as future directions for the upcoming transitional phase. A brief presentation was also delivered on the strategic plan, highlighting key achievements, initiatives, and outcomes across the pillars of the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination.
During the meeting, the Board reviewed the service ecosystem of Zayed Authority for People of Determination, which includes care and rehabilitation services, education, vocational rehabilitation, specialized social care, in addition to the geographical coverage of services across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Trustees affirmed its full support for Zayed Authority for People of Determination during the next phase and stressed the importance of strengthening institutional coordination and service sustainability, contributing to enhancing the quality of life of People of Determination and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s global leadership in this field.
