Zayed Authority for People of Determination has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Mohammed Munir Dental Center, aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in providing specialized dental care services for People of Determination, and facilitating their access to comprehensive and sustainable healthcare that meets their individual needs, in line with the highest medical standards adopted in the United Arab Emirates.
The MoU seeks to establish an institutional framework that enhances access for People of Determination to specialized dental treatment services through an approved referral pathway from the Authority to the center, ensuring continuity and integration of healthcare, and contributing to the delivery of advanced medical services tailored to their treatment needs.
The agreement also includes the provision of supported treatment services for People of Determination, including direct insurance coverage for Thiqa cardholders (Categories 1 and 2) through a direct billing system. In addition, a 50% discount will be offered on cosmetic treatments and non-insurance-covered services for Thiqa cardholders (Categories 1, 2, and 3) as well as uninsured individuals, contributing to reducing financial burdens and enhancing accessibility to specialized healthcare services.
The center also provides a fully equipped treatment environment designed to accommodate People of Determination across all categories, including wheelchair users and individuals with severe disabilities who rely on medical support devices such as oxygen machines and feeding tubes. This ensures the delivery of safe and integrated healthcare services tailored to their specific needs.
The MoU further includes cooperation in training and qualifying People of Determination and preparing them for the labor market through coordination between both parties, enhancing their professional readiness and supporting their economic and social empowerment pathways.
H.E. Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at Zayed Authority for People of Determination, affirmed that the signing of the MoU comes as part of the Authority’s strategy to expand its network of partnerships with the private healthcare sector and to strengthen an integrated healthcare system that supports the empowerment of People of Determination and improves their quality of life.
He noted that the Authority is committed to building qualitative partnerships that place the needs of People of Determination at the forefront, contributing to the development of healthcare services provided to them, and reflecting its commitment to enhancing integration between health and social sectors, in alignment with the leadership’s vision of building a more inclusive and empowering society for all.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Munir Juma Mousa Al Salwadi stated:
“At our center, we measure success not only by the beauty of a smile, but by the sense of reassurance it brings to the individual. We have designed a treatment environment where ‘challenges’ are transformed into ‘possibilities,’ proving that specialized care for People of Determination is not a luxury, but a fundamental human right. We do not merely open the doors of our clinic; we break down the barriers of medical anxiety to ensure that no one remains in pain simply because the world was not designed to meet their needs.”
The areas of cooperation between the Authority and the center also include the implementation of specialized training programs to build the capacities of medical and administrative staff at the center, enhancing their skills in التعامل with People of Determination, improving communication methods, and delivering inclusive healthcare services that address their diverse needs. Both parties will also work on launching joint awareness and community initiatives to introduce People of Determination and their families to available healthcare services, contributing to raising health awareness and facilitating access to specialized treatment services.
