Zayed Authority for People of Determination and Holistic Medical Center Sign Cooperation Agreement to Support People of Determination Students in Rehabilitation Workshops

Zayed Authority for People of Determination has signed a cooperation agreement with Holistic Medical Center, aiming to support People of Determination students enrolled in the Authority’s rehabilitation workshops, enhance their health and vocational readiness, and empower them while increasing their opportunities for inclusion in work environments suited to their abilities and needs.

The agreement comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to develop the vocational rehabilitation system through specialized partnerships that link medical, vocational, and psychological assessments with training and employment plans, ensuring a more integrated preparation process for students and trainees as they transition from rehabilitation environments into the labor market.

Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate to provide assessment services, including medical fitness examinations, workplace environment evaluations, and identification of health and vocational needs. This also includes preparing medical and vocational reports that help determine suitable roles and job functions for People of Determination, ensuring alignment with occupational health and safety standards.

The areas of cooperation also include supporting vocational rehabilitation and training plans by assessing trainees’ abilities to perform job tasks, providing medical and vocational recommendations to enhance performance, and improving employability readiness. In addition, the agreement covers proposing appropriate workplace adjustments and providing assistive tools when needed.

The agreement further includes cooperation in implementing awareness programs, educational initiatives, and joint workshops on occupational health, as well as providing technical and advisory support. It also involves training Authority staff and those working with People of Determination on occupational safety procedures, contributing to the development of safer and more inclusive training and working environments.

His Excellency Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of Zayed Authority for People of Determination, stated that this agreement represents an important step in advancing vocational rehabilitation pathways for People of Determination by linking training with medical, vocational, and psychological assessments. This approach helps identify everyone’s abilities and needs and align work environments and tasks with their capabilities.

He added that the collaboration with Holistic Medical Center enhances the readiness of students of the Authority to transition from rehabilitation workshops to suitable job opportunities and supports the creation of safer and more inclusive environments based on specialized assessments and accurate vocational recommendations. He emphasized that the Authority continues to build impactful partnerships that contribute to empowering People of Determination and transforming rehabilitation into a practical pathway toward productivity and active participation in society and the labor market.

On his part, Professor Dr. Nihyan Hilal, Executive Director, stated that signing this agreement with Zayed Authority for People of Determination represents a strategic and pivotal step that reflects their strong commitment to supporting Abu Dhabi’s national direction in empowering People of Determination. He expressed pride in leveraging their expertise in occupational health to serve the Authority and contribute effectively to assessing and developing the functional capabilities of this valued group, ensuring their sustainable integration into the labor market and improving their quality of life in line with comprehensive care principles.

He further added that the partnership with the Authority reflects the integration between the health and social sectors. Through this agreement, Holistic Medical Center will provide advanced health and vocational assessments and specialized medical fitness examinations that contribute to job matching and workplace adaptation, ensuring safe and inclusive environments for People of Determination. He reaffirmed their commitment to delivering the highest occupational health standards in support of empowerment and independence for this group.
